How to Read Status Information

PanoView Editor displays real-time state information inside the Main Panel, the 360 Edit Sessions view list, and licensing banners. In this reference guide, conditions are organized into three documentation categories:

Ready States

Indicates validated document connectivity, completed operations, or active entitlements ready for editing.

Advisory Notices

Conditions providing operational awareness (such as high memory estimates) while offering explicit options to continue.

Blocking Conditions

Structural mismatches, altered reference layers, or expired access that pause execution to protect document integrity.

360 Edit Session Statuses

The 360 Edit Sessions panel monitors the lifecycle of every perspective extraction created for your panorama:

Editing

Active State

Where it appears: In the session list next to the active perspective view entry.

Meaning: The rectilinear edit document is currently open in Photoshop and accepting artwork modifications.

Workflow continuity: Fully active. Paint and modify artwork on or inside the 360 Edit layer.

Not Applied

Uncommitted State

Where it appears: Session list item when a view has been extracted or modified but not yet committed back to the panorama.

Meaning: The extracted view contains uncommitted edits or has not undergone Apply View Edits.

Recommended action: Click Apply View Edits to merge the changes into the parent equirectangular canvas.

Ready to Apply

Validated

Where it appears: Apply View Edits button state and session item badge.

Meaning: Reference layers, editable views, and panorama dimensions have been verified and confirmed ready for reprojection.

Recommended action: Execute Apply View Edits to proceed.

Projection Available

Saved Geometry

Where it appears: Session item after the edit document is closed or saved.

Meaning: The view perspective parameters (Heading, Pitch, FOV) and layer bindings remain stored in document metadata.

Recommended action: Click Open or Go to View to restore the view anytime.

Document & Reference Warnings

When layer structures or smart components are modified directly in Photoshop outside PanoView Editor workflows, warning badges protect the session:

Editable View Missing

Structure Warning

Trigger: The required 360 Edit layer was deleted or renamed in the edit document.

Workflow continuity: Blocked until restored.

Remediation: If an intact earlier version of the edit document is available, return to that version before the editable layer was removed. Otherwise, create a new edit view from the panorama rather than attempting to manually reconstruct internal session layer links.

Editable View Was Rasterized

Layer Integrity

Trigger: The Smart Object containing the perspective view was flattened or rasterized into a single standard pixel layer.

Workflow continuity: Blocked from automated differential reprojection.

Remediation: If an intact earlier version of the edit document is available, return to that version before the editable structure was altered. Otherwise, create a new edit view from the panorama rather than attempting to rebuild internal session metadata manually.

Edit Reference Needs Attention

Reference Integrity

Trigger: The baseline Background/Reference layer was unlocked, painted on, moved, or deleted.

Workflow continuity: Blocked until reference baseline is restored.

Remediation: Revert unwanted modifications to the reference layer and keep it locked at the bottom of the edit stack.

05

Panorama Conditions

Conditions affecting the primary equirectangular canvas:

Panorama Closed

Missing Document

Trigger: The parent panorama file was closed in Photoshop while the edit document remained open.

Workflow continuity: Apply View Edits cannot commit pixels without the parent document.

Remediation: Reopen the panorama file in Photoshop. PanoView Editor automatically matches the persistent session ID.

Panorama Size Changed

Geometry Mismatch

Trigger: The pixel dimensions of the source panorama were changed after perspective view extraction.

Workflow continuity: Reprojection is blocked to prevent spatial distortion and pixel scale mismatch.

Remediation: Revert any canvas size or crop adjustments to match the original panorama dimensions, or generate a fresh perspective view from the current panorama geometry.

06

Licensing & Access States

PanoView Editor license statuses are verified across six distinct states:

LifetimeFully Licensed

Permanent entitlement active. All features, full-resolution processing, and export functions are unlocked without expiration.

TrialActive Evaluation

7-day full-feature trial active with remaining countdown. Unlocks all production workflows without watermarks.

Check RequiredRenewal Warning

The offline grace interval has elapsed. Connect to the Internet and click Refresh Access to renew the cached token.

ExpiredAccess Blocked

The 7-day trial period has concluded. Production features are locked until an official license key is activated.

RevokedAccess Inactive

The activated license key was cancelled or refunded. Contact support if you believe this was triggered in error.

No EntitlementUnregistered

Fresh installation without an initiated trial or license key. Click Start 7-Day Trial or Enter Code to begin.

07

Advisory vs Blocking Conditions

A crucial architectural distinction in PanoView Editor is between advisory notifications and blocking errors:

Advisory Conditions (Non-Fatal)

Advisory conditions provide operational awareness but offer an explicit option to continue. For example, Memory Preflight warns when an operation will exceed approximately 1.5 GiB of working memory. It presents Cancel and Continue buttons. Choosing Continue proceeds normally with full-resolution transformation.

Blocking Conditions (Fatal)

Blocking conditions prevent processing to protect document integrity. For example, if the Background/Reference layer is deleted, reprojection is paused because pixel difference calculations cannot execute without the baseline. Execution resumes once the structural mismatch is corrected.

What to Do Next

Follow these step-by-step diagnostic workflows based on the status message displayed:

1

Verify Active Document Tab: Confirm Photoshop is focused on the document corresponding to the session.

2

Inspect Layer Naming: Ensure the edit document contains the intact Background/Reference layer at the bottom and 360 Edit above it.

3

Check Entitlement Status: If access is blocked, verify trial status or re-enter your purchase code in Licensing & Access.
