Diagnostics System Overview

The 360 Edit Sessions panel acts as a real-time monitor for the relationship between your master panorama, embedded Smart Objects, and applied projection layers. Every session entry displays a distinct status badge indicating its operational condition.

Status badges fall into two primary categories: normal operational states that occur during standard editing, and diagnostic attention states that indicate a missing file, layer restructuring, or dimension change.

Panorama ClosedMaster Document Not Open

What you see: The session card indicates that the parent panorama document is not currently open in Photoshop.

Layer Integrity Warnings

These statuses appear when managed Photoshop layers are altered, moved, or duplicated:

Editable View MissingSmart Object Layer Not Found

Possible causes: This can happen when the embedded Smart Object layer (360 Edit Source - View N) cannot be found in the master panorama, such as if it was renamed, moved, or deleted.

Can work continue? The Open action is disabled for this session.

Recommended action: If the layer was renamed, restore its original name. If accidentally deleted, undo the deletion or delete the orphaned session.

Editable View Was RasterizedSmart Object Flattened to Raster

Possible causes: This status indicates that the Smart Object layer was converted into a standard raster pixel layer in Photoshop.

Can work continue? The embedded PSB workfile can no longer be unpacked.

Recommended action: Undo the rasterization step in Photoshop History to restore Smart Object status.

Multiple Editable Sources FoundDuplicate Smart Objects

Possible causes: This can happen when multiple Smart Object layers match the view source naming in the Layers panel, such as from manual layer duplication.

Can work continue? PanoView Editor pauses actions to prevent saving to the wrong source.

Recommended action: Remove the duplicate copy of the Smart Object layer in Photoshop.

Multiple Panorama Results FoundDuplicate Projection Layers

Possible causes: This can happen when multiple projection layers match the managed view result naming in the Layers panel.

Can work continue? Applying may overwrite or leave redundant layers.

Recommended action: Delete the duplicate projection layer, keeping only the primary managed layer.

05

Geometry & Reference Warnings

Warnings related to canvas dimensions and baseline references:

Panorama Size ChangedCanvas Resized or Cropped

Possible causes: This status indicates that the master panorama canvas dimensions or aspect ratio changed after views were extracted.

Can work continue? Reverse projection formulas depend on exact pixel dimensions and aspect ratio.

Recommended action: Undo resizing to restore original pixel dimensions, or extract a fresh view at the new resolution.

Edit Reference Needs AttentionReference Layer Modified

Possible causes: This can happen when edits, brush strokes, or unlocks are detected on the baseline Background/Reference layer inside the perspective document.

Can work continue? Differential comparison relies on an untouched reference baseline.

Recommended action: Undo changes made to Background/Reference, re-lock the layer, and keep all creative work on 360 Edit.
